A Warm Welcome at Wellington Road
Our long-standing manager is proud of her excellent childcare team – a broad cross-section of ages and cultural backgrounds, adding an element of diversity and rich learning opportunities for our children. The team’s passion for childcare is evident in everything they do and our parents comment on the welcoming, homely feel at our nursery. Some of our team have families themselves and our parents find this practical experience reassuring.
An Individual Approach to Learning
Here at Treetops Wellington Road, Cheltenham we take an individual approach to each and every child, monitoring their progress and development in line with the EYFS statutory framework. A combination of child-led play and structured learning helps to maximise the potential of each and every child in our care.
We deliver a programme of stimulating and exciting activities from messy play, sensory play, home corner and role play to the pre-school staples of phonics, literacy and elemental mathematics – we’ve got every age and stage of childcare covered.
We also offer extra-curricular activities including Boogie Beats dance and drama for over 2’s and Yoga for our preschool children.
Outdoor Adventure at Wellington Road
The great outdoors is an important part of learning for growing children and is also a great way to expend energy, explore nature, the elements and the world around. Children at Treetops Wellington Road enjoy a large garden area with a wide range of resources for physical and mental development.
We also aim to broaden horizons by making sure the childcare team and our children get out and about in the community. It’s a great way to consolidate themes taught in nursery and teaches confidence and independence in the outside environment. We visit nearby parks to feed the ducks, the local library for special story time and baby bounce and rhyme sessions. We also enjoy trips to Play Farm – a nearby soft play centre.
Educating children about healthy eating and nutrition is also on the agenda at Treetops Wellington Road, Cheltenham. We often take the children to local shops to buy produce for snack-time and ingredients for our nursery meals.
Links with Local Schools
Our preschool children go onto a wide variety of schools but we have strong links with nearby Oakwood Primary School, visiting their facilities and making use of their soft play and sensory room.
Other local schools include Holy Trinity CE Primary School, Dunalley Primary School and St John’s Primary School, Cheltenham.
