Convenient Quality Childcare at Hornbeam Park
Kindercare Hornbeam Park Day Nursery and Preschool is a lovely, large purpose-built nursery just off Hornbeam Park Avenue and nestled in the centre of Hornbeam Industrial Park.
A short drive from Harrogate town and a couple of minutes-walk from Hornbeam mainline train station make us a popular choice with commuting parents. Frequent bus services are available from Hookstone Road too.
Many of our parents commute and can make use of the private parking bays directly outside the nursery. This area is also convenient for swift drop-offs and pick-ups.
Built to our very own specifications, our bright and airy nursery enjoys action-packed, fun-filled rooms – designed to meet the physical, emotional and educational needs of each of our key age and stage groups. Our passionate childcare team cares for children from 12 weeks up to 5 years old.
We’d love to show you around our nursery!
Anything else we can help you with?
Maximising the Potential of Every Child
Our dedicated childcare team here at Kindercare Hornbeam Park takes an individual approach to each and every child, monitoring their progress and development in line with the EYFS statutory framework. A combination of child-led play and structured learning helps to maximise the potential of each and every child in our care.
We deliver a programme of stimulating and exciting activities from messy and sensory play, mark making, home corner and role play to the pre-school staples of phonics, literacy and elemental mathematics – we’ve got every age and stage of childcare covered.
We believe children should have a safe, friendly and calm atmosphere to play, create and educate and our long-serving team make that their number one priority.
Rich Outdoor Play
Here at Kindercare Hornbeam Park we recognise the importance of outdoor play. All of our children enjoy direct access to secure age-appropriate, enclosed play areas that ensure they enjoy freedom of movement and a choice of activities inside and out.
Play areas have safer surfacing, perfect for mastering mini vehicle play and balance bikes and for adventurous climbing frame activity. There’s an additional grassed area for our pre-schooler’s, also shared by our younger guests for picnics etc. Extensive improvements include all-weather activity gazebos, planters, additional sandpits and a willow tunnel.
Getting out and about in the community is important too as it helps children understand the world around them. We take our younger children out in buggy buses for exposure to additional stimulus and our mobile children love to explore a local wooded area, hunting for leaves and conkers to make displays in nursery.
Physical play is also encouraged in our own on-site jungle ball pool room, perfect for those days when the great British weather gets the better of us!
Quality Preschool Education
Our preschool room is led by a qualified teacher who works four days a week providing children at Kindercare Hornbeam Park with the skills they need to succeed at school.
Though fun is the order of the day every day we begin to gently introduce more structure in our preschool rooms and deliver the foundations you’d expect for lifelong learning – phonics, literacy and elemental mathematics plus key social skills to help your little ones become confident and independent. Of course we’ll teach them all the things that will also give you as a parent huge satisfaction – watching your child write their own name!
We have strong links with local schools in the area and encourage communication between their teaching staff and our nursery team to provide feedback on the development and progress of each child so that their learning needs can be met at school.
Most of our preschool children tend to go on to Oatlands Infant School, Harrogate, Panel Primary School, Harrogate, Hookstone Chase Primary School, Harrogate, Willow Tree Primary School, Harrogate, St Peter’s CE Primary School, Harrogate and Western Primary School, Harrogate.
Emma has been with Kindercare, part of the Treetops Nurseries family, for over 17 years and is one of the company’s longest-serving employees. She loves the responsibility of shaping the minds of our future generations and finds it a rewarding job, even if exhausting at times! Emma’s hidden talent is dancing and she has previously performed in many shows and won awards. At weekends she loves to get away from it all in her beloved VW campervan.
