Home-from-Home at Headingley
At Kindercare Headingley we strive to create a home-from-home feel so that children, and parents. feel welcome and at ease as soon as they set foot into our warm nursery.
Our dedicated childcare practitioners take an individual approach to each and every child, monitoring their progress and development in line with the EYFS statutory framework. A combination of child-led play and structured learning helps to maximise the potential of each and every child in our care and we encourage children to be themselves and express their feelings.
The nursery is split across 2 levels with our younger children on the ground level and our preschool children enjoyed classrooms and their own dedicated space for learning on the upper level.
Education and school Readiness
We deliver a programme of stimulating and exciting activities from messy play, sensory play, home corner and role play to the pre-school staples of phonics, literacy and elemental mathematics – we’ve got every age and stage of childcare covered. Our preschool room is led by a practitioner with Qualified Teacher Status qualification.
Kindercare Headingley enjoys close links with local primary Schools with invitations to take part in their fun days – a lovely, natural way to transition preschool children. Our local schools include Richmond House School, Weetwood Primary School, St Chad’s CE Primary School, Meanwood CE Primary School & Rose Court Primary School.
Fantastic Outdoor Learning
Outdoor play is a critical part of the learning and educational process. Apart from the obvious physical advantages the outdoors provides an ever-changing learning environment and raises awareness of key themes like the weather and nature.
Our school conversion means we naturally enjoy purpose-built play spaces – 3 separate areas for age appropriate play and discovery. We also have access to a jungle-themed soft play ball pool room within the nursery for older children to use.
The staff at Kindercare Headingley take children out and about in the community to raise awareness of the world around them. We visit local shops and Headingley library for story-time and take walks to Meanwood and Becketts Parks.
Aimee has worked with young children for nearly 13 years and recently returned from Australia where she was employed as a nanny and worked within nursery settings.
