Happy, Confident Children
Children at Treetops Harlesden Day Nursery and Preschool enjoy a programme of stimulating and exciting activities and experiences, developed in line with the EYFS statutory framework. Our aim at Treetops Harlesden is to maximise the potential of every child in our care and to nurture happy, confident, independent children.
There’s every type of play imaginable including messy play, sensory play, construction areas and junk-modelling plus we also host different themes in our well-resourced home corners from banks and post offices to hair salons and supermarkets. Imaginations are developed via role play and we develop early literacy, listening and comprehension skills during regular story and rhyme-time.
Preschool children receive more focused support on phonics, writing, literacy and mathematics in preparation for their move onto ‘big school’.
Our preschool children tend to go on to neighbouring schools including John Keble CE Primary School, Harlesden, Newfield Primary School, Harlesden, St Mary’s CE Primary School, Willesden and St Joseph’s RC Primary School, Willesden.
Magnificent Outdoor Play
Outdoor play is key to a child’s development and something we take seriously here at Treetops Harlesden. Not only does it support the crucial development of large muscles but it also encourages balance, coordination and important social skills.
Children at Treetops Harlesden can delight in our fabulous refurbished garden with plenty of space for energetic play and exploration. It’s well-equipped with a variety of resources and apparatus including a gardening area for our green-fingered guests. There are also hills and tunnels to explore.
Our under 2’s enjoy their very own area for safe play at their own pace.
If we fancy a change of scenery we also make good use of neighbouring Roundwood Park, getting the children out and about in their local community.
Laura joined Treetops Nurseries in 2007 as a nursery nurse and has worked her way up through the ranks to nursery manager. She holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Childcare and loves seeing children grow and develop in her care and making a difference to the children’s lives and their families. Laura’s passion for childcare stems from a school work experience placement at a local primary school and also from having a close family. Laura loves foreign travel and visiting her family who are all over the world but Australia is her favourite place. She enjoys reading, shopping and is a keen history buff!
