Quality Childcare in Headingley, Leeds
Children at Treetops Grove, Nursery, Headingley enjoy a programme of stimulating and exciting activities and experiences, developed in line with the EYFS statutory framework. Our aim at Treetops Grove Nursery, Headingley is to maximise the potential of every child in our care and to nurture happy, confident, independent children.
There’s every type of play imaginable including messy play, sensory play, construction areas and junk-modelling plus we also host different themes in our well-resourced home corners from banks and post offices to hair salons and supermarkets. Imaginations are developed via role play and we develop early literacy, listening and comprehension skills during regular story and rhyme-time.
Home-From-Home Baby Room
Our experienced and caring team is adept at settling babies, and parents, into the new nursery routine. We know how stressful it can feel when you leave your little one for the first time so we’ll work closely with you to ensure that the transition from home to nursery is as smooth as it can be.
That’s why we’ve developed what we call a home-from-home approach to the styling of our nurseries.
Our self-contained baby room has been decorated to resemble a lounge or living room with all of the same creature comforts you might have at home. It makes for a friendly, homely and welcome environment.
Preschool Learning and School Readiness
We believe children learn best when they’re happy and relaxed so learning through play continues to be a dominant theme right through to our pre-school room. We are also mindful of the transition ahead for those going on to ‘big school’ so here at Treetops Grove, Headingley we work hard to gently introduce a little more structure into the daily routine.
You can expect your preschool child to learn all of the staples of phonics, literacy and elemental mathematics but here at Treetops Grove Nursery we go one step further and run dedicated week-long school readiness programmes to introduce practical concepts like packed lunches, lining-up for class and getting changed for PE.
When children leave Treetops Grove, Headingley Preschool they typically go on to neighbouring schools including Shire Oak CE Primary School, Headingley, Meanwood CE Primary School, Meanwood, Leeds and Quarry Mount Primary School, Leeds.
We encourage the children in our care to get outside every day whatever the weather and our beautiful English country garden provides ample opportunity for energetic play and exploration. We have three smaller gardens to allow safe age-appropriate play and a large garden at the rear for bug-hunting and Gruffalo-discovering!
Lisa is a relative newcomer to the Treetops family but has been working in childcare for a number of years. Also a mother to a small toddler Lisa combines professional and personal experience with a passion for developing and nurturing children. An Early Years Professional she has a BA Honours in Childhood and Youth Studies and Level 5 in Management. When she’s not inspiring tiny minds she enjoys family time, reading and socialising with friends.
